Ken’s Artisan Pizza
Wednesday, October 29th, 2008I have been reading and hearing quite a bit about Ken’s Artisan Pizza and today I decided to try it for dinner. I think my expectations about the pizza was too high because of what I have read and heard and because Ken’s Bakery on 21st has some great breads. I order a pizza with prosciutto and a Stella. The prosciutto was very good and the thin crust was also good. The wood burning oven gave the pizza a nice taste.
However, not everything was great. Part of my pizza crust was burnt and it did not taste that great. I had to cut part of the crust off and that took more effort than I like. In addition, I did not find the pizza sauce to be anything special. I think that pizza hut’s sauce is just as good. In addition, the cheese on the pizza was so so – nothing amazing. Ken’s Artisan Pizza is still not as good as Cheeseboards in Berkeley.
Maybe my oppinions are highly biased?
writing from the android phone
Friday, October 24th, 2008The keyboard is surprisingly easy to use. I am very surprise about this. It sure beats typing a message from a cell phone. However, the g1 phone places the keyboard next to this hunk of junk menu and call button. This makes typing difficult.
Although it is easy typing on it, for writing this much text it sure sucks.
Last update – 25 dollar week
Sunday, October 19th, 2008I lasted through 5 days of eating the stuff I bought from the grocery store and cooked myself. I already mentioned that I went out to eat on Friday and Saturday. However, I have changed my mind about making it up for it Monday and Tuesday. I will finish all the food I bought and I will not throw anything away. I know that surviving on 25 dollar a week for food is very hard and I do not think I want to try it again.
However, this has shown me that I do not have to always eat outside. I can eat at home and still make decent food. I can bring lunch to work once in a while and it will not take too much time. Finally, you can survive on 25 dollar a week but it sucks totally. I now have a better appreciation of all that I have.
programming is like writing – I can never start either
Saturday, October 18th, 2008I hate to write and I suck at it. When I was in high school and college, I always start my writing assignment at the last second before it is due and I will work late into the night to produce some sentences that probably did not make any sense to anyone. The hardest part about writing was always about getting it started. I will write a sentence in the introduction paragraph, surf the web and then write another sentence.
I feel the same way about programming. A lot of time is spent doing random stuff and once in a while I will have a flash of brilliance and write a whole bunch of code. I wonder if an excellent writer will also make an excellent programmer. I think there are a lot of similarities between writing and programming. I wish I can list them and then I will work on them and become both a better writer and programmer.
