Engineer’s Attempt at Writing

This place was pretty nice. I didn’t think Devil’s Rest after wahkeena fall was that special.

My coworker and I hiked up king’s mountain 2 weeks ago. It was pretty darn difficult. There were more than 2800 feet elevation change and more than 5 miles covered the entire loop. However, the hike was quite fun. I fell a number of times because part of the trail had snow, and coming down on a steep slope was hard. My entire foot, all the way up to my thigh, fell into a snow.

It was hard, but it was fun.

This has to rank as one of the worst movies I’ve ever seen. Man there was absolutely no plot, and the acting was  even worse.  When the movie started, it was like welcome to movie 2.0. Just because in Web 2.0, applications can mashed together to create a new interesting applications, it does not mean that you can just take some random characters from Hong Kong movies and mashed them together into some lame plots and call it a more interesting movie. In addition, adding in some lame adventure to return the golden staff to the hero (similar to LOTR) with some fight scene does not make it a movie. The dialogue was horrific. Some of the stuff that they said in the movie (I would repeat them here, but it was so bad, my brain refused to remember it) makes me want to barf.

The acting was deplorable. The kid from Boston has 2 emotions: stolid and blank. Jet Li tried to be the wise monk but he sucked at that. It is even worse than “Be patient little grasshopper”. In addition, Jet Li did a very bad job portraying the monkey king. He tried to be funny and carefree, but all of his facial expression just makes him appear like some pervert. Jackie Chan play a character that he is comfortable with, and in my opinion was probably the best actor in the whole movie (I am not saying he was good, just less bad).

At least there were some interesting fight scenes.
