Joost don’t work
Monday, May 14th, 2007I was very excited when I got an invite for Joost from startupmeme.com, but I can’t get it to work. It just says for some reason that it can’t connect to the stream. Then when I look through the online faqs, it talk about that I need to have some UDP ports open, and I did that, but it still didn’t work.
It seems to be that if the program isn’t able to get some ports open, it can tell you that.
Anyhow, if anyone got Joost to work properly, post a comment and tell me how you did it. I tried the Guinness world record channel and the fight channel. Nothing worked. Even the indian music channel did not work.
I give up.
Loyalty does not exist in corporate america

I hope this is not true, or else it will really really suck. How can IBM management layoff 150,000 workers? That is over 1/3 of their 350,000 work force. How does a company expect a worker to do his best whenever upper management screw up, and the rest of the employees have to pay for it with their job. Maybe it is time for management to take responsibility for their screw ups.
If I ever have a company, I will never do this. I still believe in loyalty. If you sign up to work for a company, then you should do your best to help the company succeed, and at the same time, the company should do everything they can to help their employee secure their job.
Maybe all of this is because of Wall Street. However, it doesn’t make sense to me. Maybe I am delirious to believe that if you add up all the investment, a vast majority of the money is coming from everyday workers. If it is, maybe it is time for you as the investor to tell these companies being run by greedy executives that you do not want to see temporary profit. But, you want to see the company create a product that is worthwhile and therefore, don’t have to resort to firing massive number of people to keep their numbers up.
